The Star Who Wouldn’t Sing

It sat among the other stars,

The star that wouldn’t sing.

The others sang without it,

“All praise to God our King.”

The little star shone for itself.

And yet its light shone cold.

Then it collapsed upon itself.

A barren, hungry hole.

Now roaming through the universe

This monster pulls within

The planets, stars and comets.

All hungry, lone and grim.
